How DO you manage to do these things? ;-)

You didn't delete every line in clients.xml? i.e. you only deleted the
actual clients lines and left the start/end lines intact? If the file is
completely empty I'll send you a new one, else can you zip up the entire
xplmedianet folder and send to me please?
