having trouble getting xPL comfort to set outputs

Hi

I xPL comfort installed via xPLHAL, can see inputs changing fine so
connection is there. If i try to set an ouput, i can see a xpl message
going out asking this but nothing happens, the ouput does not go high.

Have looked at my config file, it has the right interface setup (rs232
port 1001 - i can see messages so i know it works), pin code is correct.
I assume it needs to login to the system first before it can send
commands? (like output on)   have i missed something?  I can send x10
commands via it ok

any ideas?
