Sorry, I didn't explain very well
The connection between xplmedianet and winamp is via a shoutcast stream it
creates internally (as opposed to an xplmedianet shoutcast stream)
When you select play url http://ip:port/name in winamp xplmedianet
creates a
shoutcast stream to winamp
Without transcoding you can't play anything other than mp3
Xplmedianet has no control or communication with winamp, other then sending
it this stream

See above, from the web interface you're telling it what to stream
I'd like to write a version of the player device that communicates with
winamp via a plug-in, but this has some limitations (in that you'd always
need the plug-in)
The current player device is just a generic stream for use with winamp, vlc
etc (but not wmp)
