Xplmedianet questions..

Trying it out (at last!) - I couldn't get it to work at all each time I
tried, and figured out it must be something I was doing... Turned out to
be an old chestnut - I'm running on NT4, and the system account can't
access the "c:\program files\" folders.

So, if you are using xPLMediaNet on NT4, change the account the service
is running as to one specifically for the purpose, with the required
access rights to see the media.

Now in actual use, I'm struggling with what looks like an easy
interface, but isn't doing what I think it should.. Just want to check
the experience of others.

Firstly, I'm using Winamp as a client - don't actually have any hardware
players.

I connect to the url: http://myserver:8070:/mypcname
The client says
"[ICY 200 OK]", so that seems good.

Sure enough in the web interface on http://myserver:8080 I can see
"mypcname" listed as a client. Clicking that brings up the menu
with
clear, play etc.

If I go into "browse", I see a list of the music on my system,
with
albums listed as links. If I click, say, "ACDC - Blow up your
video", I
go to the track listing for that album.

This is where it all goes a bit wrong.. :

If I click on "01 - Heatseeker", nothing happens. Similarly,
"play all
tracks" doesn't seem to do anything.

I figured that this was just playlist building, so I tried hitting
"play" - nothing happens.

I clicked "current", and it confirms - the current playlist is
empty.

The same happens if I click on playlists - it shows my playlists, but
when I click on them, nothing much happens... Except for one playlist,
which then adds to the current playlist!

If I click play at this point, I do indeed get music playing - I can use
next/previous etc fine... But can't add anything to the playlist using
browse/music etc.

Any ideas where to go from here? What would help troubleshoot this?

Ian.
