Hi all,
The MVP device finally implements fast forward/reverse (a popular request
that never got added to xplrionet)
But I have a problem in that a few of my test videos break up competely
during forward/reverse due to me not having enough information about the
structure of mpeg's.
If there is anyone who has any information on the mpeg structure (or any
potential mvp xplmedianet users who can find some time to try and find
something out) I'd be extremely grateful please.
This is what I know already:
An mpeg is broken down into GOP's (groups of pictures) and each GOP has an
'Intra' frame (this is a complete picture frame and is the item I'm
interested in) and a number of other frames which provide changes to the
Intra frame to provide further images (this is what makes mpeg comressed)
The problem is the mvp expects the intra frame I present it to have no
other
information other than the picture, BUT an intra frame is broken down into
alternating parts of a bit of the picture interspersed with bits of the
audio...
This is the problem, in that I don't have sufficient information on the
header of each of these bits. Each piece of picture/audio has a header,
skipping the audio isn't a problem, but the header for each bit of the
picture seems to be of variable length and I can't work out how to
acurately
work out the length! Info I've found suggests one of the bytes is the
header
length but this doesn't seem to hold true with any of my test videos. On
the
whole it's often 18 bytes, but it can be 3 bytes and also a lot longer...
This is the information I really need to find please
Many thanks
Tony
