Shhhh - it's a big secret...

Back in the day, xPL meant "xAP Lite", until the xAP guys took
serious
umbrage.

We came up with "eXtremely simPle protocoL" as more of a way fo
explaining
*what* it was rather than how it came about.

...so now you know. :D
