I have always thought the hub is an ugly work-around for a flaw in the OS.
Even though Mal's hub is very slick ;-)
If I were a Linux user I would definitely prefer a setup without hub. One
xpl-application = one setup. Remove all xpl-application and no residual
deamons are left running on the pc.
That, and it probably is more efficient to let the OS do the hubbing if it
can do it.
