Actually, it appears that it's only a problem when an app tries to get the
handle to a mutex that was created by a service - it works the other way
round.
It's definitely something to do with the security attributes. I think its
worth seeing if it can be made to work (so I'll try at my next coding
opportunity) - the less "gotchas" the user has to watch out for
the better.
