Ok, I get it now. It's because I was thinking of 'A' before.

If we have a heirarchy then we don't need them.

Yep, will go with that

So genre->artist would filter artists of a particular genre, but then
show
all albums (and subsequently tracks) for that artist regardless of genre?
Same for Genre->Albums?
