RE: xPLRioNet - Can't get DELL to work

I removed the entry from clients.xml, and the xml file from
c:\windows\system32, restarted the rio and it didn't work but did put those
entries back in (but with a different 169.* ip address).
I have even completely removed xPLRioNet and reinstalled but still no go.
The DHCP is working because the exstreamer gets an IP address, as does my
laptop.
I tried adding a reservation for that MAC address, still no go...
It seems very similar to the problem I am having with the MVP's not picking
up IP addresses.
The DHCP server is configured for both DHCP and BOOTP, but that shouldn't
make any differnce I don't think??/
Getting a bit stuck and frustrated with this... I'll swap the switch out
tonight incase there's something wrong with that....
I'll also fire up ethereal and try and see what's going on....

Hi Neil,
Don't use xplrionet dhcp if you have DHCP on the network (the sbs dhcp may
well auto shutdown if it see's the xplrionet one!)
The rio should get it's ip address fine from the sbs dhcp (this is what I
use myself), if it's not getting one then either there's a problem with the
dell or a network issue...
It's odd that xplrionet even see's the rio to add it to clients.xml since
it's on the wrong subnet?
Regards
Tony
