The real difference is that the security remotes send codes that have no
relation to X10 commands - there's no houscode / unit code / function
code. What you get is just a device id and a command id, both in the
range 0-255.
The W800RF32 RF receiver can read both types of code. The xPL service
that supports it (http://www.lansell.org/mal/ha/ha_downloads.shtml)
sends x10.basic xPL messages for standard X10 RF commands but has to use
remote.basic for security codes. Of course, you can always set up
xPLHal to send an X10 command in response to remote.basic message if you
want.
