You don't have to purge if moving movies for example.

During scanning all db entries are flagged as 'not found' and then at the
end of scanning are deleted from the db if 'not found' is still flagged.

So if you move your movies folder, a movie scan will find the new files and
then delete the old ones from the db.

Purging really only relates to music, when youv'e changed tags
