xPLRioNet v3.9.08 Released

  • Subject: xPLRioNet v3.9.08 Released

Hi all,

Have just published v3.9.08 to www.xplhal.com

Changes are:

A) Bug fix in riocast (wasn't releasing resources for clients properly)

B) Shoutcast streams now attempt a reconnect on failure

Only xplrionet.exe has changed in this release

The reconnect works (due to the need to refill the buffers) by flagging if
a
playing stream has failed unexpectedly.

If this flag is set then xplrionet will automatically attempt to start
playing the stream again (obviously there is a delay while existing buffer
plays out and a reconnection is made).

Only a stream that has been playing and failed will restart, a failed
connect will not restart - for obvious reasons.

It will only attempt to reconnect once per cycle, i.e. only 1 reconnect per
succesful connect (that's as clear as mud!).

Don't forget that you can create multiple entries for the same stream
(either the same or different urls) in streams.xml, and xplrionet attempts
to connect to each in turn to find a working one. As long as you give each
entry the same title it will appear in the menu only once, but each entry
will be tried for a connect until either a successful connection or none
work. Not sure if this is in the documentation....

This really is the last release this week, I hope.

Regards
Tony
