Frank,

I'm doing something similar using HV and ACE. I have scheduled
events that run daily and look for certain conditions either weekly
or monthly for either reminders that I want announced or error
conditions I need to know about. Then I use the TTS module in ACE to
announce them through a set of speakers in the living area of the
house.

I also use ACE to send messages to ACE clients running on Epods
computers which I have hung on the wall and use for interfaces at
several places throughout the house. These Epods run ACE in a
terminal services client window from my Windows 2000 Server. Works
very well.
