Might be an idea to try it manually,
Remove the entries you created & reboot tivo to clean out processes
Telnet from a command prompt with:
Telnet <ip of tivo>
Cd to where the files are locatd on the tivo:
ifconfig lo up
Then (I'm assuming you've already done a chmod to set execute permissions)
./xplhub &
Then
./tivoosd mytivo &
And see if you get any errors at any stage
