Re: Latest State of play on 320kbps files

Just installed and like what I see so far! I recently reencoded my
music collection to 320kbps and I'm experiencing the same stuttering
on the Rio. I was curious to see if I could get around the problem in
the near term by transcoding the mp3s on the fly with an entry in the
transcode.xml file. I added the following:

<convert source="mp3" device="*" cmd="lame.exe
--preset 192
{sourcefile} -" />

I restart everything and play a tune but no indication that
transcoding is occurring (i.e. no command box appears -- I didn't
specify --silent and no lame.exe in the task list). Also, nothing
appears in the log file. Is mp3 not a valid source for the convert tag?

I have a copy of lame.exe in the xPLRioNet directory.

Regards, Jim
