Try taking the power off the board and reapplying it.  Then check to see
if the bottom box on the app show the TOM10 boot up message

"TOM10 Ver1.4 Copyright JM Earl"

This box is showing the incoming messages from the board so will show
whether the serial port is open and linked to the app.
