RE: xpl-RSS

Hi Frank,

RSS news feeds are basically .xml files that are updated with news
stories; these are published thru a web server.

For example, the BBC publishes all their news headlines as RSS feeds.
This saves you from having to visit the web site see what's going on.
When a new story is added to a RSS feed, your reader will automatically
display it for you.

The good bit is that since an RSS news feed is just an .XML document,
news readers have been written for every platform you could probably
think of including Linux, Windows, PocketPC, Mac and X-box.

Currently, I use RSSReader on my PC, and the built-in RSS reader in XBMC
on my XBox. I also have a RSS reader on my PDA. So I can see xPL Events
(news items) on multiple platforms anywhere around the house.

Have a look at www.rssreader.com it got some good info on RSS and the
Reader application is free! In think it installs with the BBC RSS feed
by default.

Hope this helps.

Peter
