xplrionet and w2k3 high cpu utilisation

  • Subject: xplrionet and w2k3 high cpu utilisation

Hi all,

Have just installed a test w2k3 server and installed xplrionet

It runs fine for me, with no cpu utilisation issues that i can see

However, when i try to control a rio that hasn't been configured with the
xpl manager i _do_ get 95+% cpu utilisation

We know why this is and will make 2 amendments to counter it

The question is can anyone with this cpu problem using w2k3 (or any os
actually) confirm that they havent configured the rio thru xpl manager?

Regardless of whether this is the issue we'll be publishing a further beta
release with the following 2 modifications to counter this problem anyway

a) process xpl messages regardless of whether it's been configured
(therefore use default settings)

b) timeout the interface after 4 seconds if xpl confirmation message not
received

Many thanks
Tony
