Hi all,

I have basic code running now with TTS being injected into the mp3 stream
of
rio, exstreamer and slimp3.

A couple of points have come to light, that I'd really like some feedback
on
please.

A) When injecting into a playing stream there is a delay before the TTS is
played, due to the buffer size of the player (this is different for each
type of player of course - in a range of about 4 to 10 seconds I guess).

B) The above means that the volume cannot be altered at the player level
since a volume command would have immediate effect, and therefore start too
soon (blasting the music louder) and end too soon (end of voice tails
away)...

The volume can be altered by lame, but for each factor it increases it
becomes more distorted. Currently I'm using a factor of 1 (no increase),
but
a factor of 2 (double) would work - but beyond that it starts to distort
particularly noticably.

Thoughts/comments please?

I've had enough for this evening, so will catch up with any comments in the
morning.

If theyre aren't any comments I'll proceed with the remaining coding as is,
and will ignore any moans that come later!

Regards
Tony
