Yes, mine is a rebadged Dell also. It also worked fine streaming mp3s
from my server PC. Then with 3.2s it appears to have stopped sending the
mp3s (mostly because the scan to the database doesn't seem to put any
info in the database). Shoutcast streams seem to play for a sec then
pause then play again and pause. Tony told me that you had a problem
like that sometime ago.

Mine also came up a time or two the same way yours did with the Dell
initializing msg. I went through a ritual of powering th Rio down then
restarted the rionet service and then powered on the Rio. A time or two
I've had to pull the power cord on the Rio. I also had to totally remove
the rionet service and reinstall it. My log now shows the normal upload
of the new client software to the Rio just fine. When the receiver
finally boots up it has the 3,2s display on the display. If you want I
can send you a copy offline of my log.

By the way, I've got a wireless connection to my Rio (Dell). I had a
problem with 320kbs mp3s pausing and Tony upped the buffer to 64k or
something like that. I looked at the source and there are 2 places I
have found that deal with a buffer. One shows an 8k buffer the mp3
decoder shows a 16k buffer. Apparently wireless systems require a bigger
buffer.

Good luck on your search. Like I said I can send you a copy of my log if
you like. I will be happy to compare settings with you also. I think
this piece of software has the greatest hope of keeping the DAR alive
for me. The original software was barely functional and I have tried
other 3rd party stuff and none of them has worked as well as xPLRio.net.

Mike
