Hi Tony,
It's not an issue now I know what's going on. I'll just save the dynamic
data to the application config file where I store the sourceID.
>Thoughts/comments anyone?
Might be useful for hardware based devices with none/limited
Non-Volatile-Memory, all they would need to set/store was their sourceID
the rest could be provided via Xpl. It would also act as a backup
mechanism for devices or applications. If an app or hardware device died
and the local dynamic data went too, you could recover it from the .cfg
file in xplHal.
Peter

Hi Peter,
What's happening is this
1) app loads with default values
2) app gets configured by xplhal (or xplhal learns default values)
3) app dynamically changes values
4) app exits saving dynamic changes
Then
1) app loads with default values
2) app loads saved values
3) xplhal sends last known values (not the dynamic ones)
The only way around this I can see is that whenever the app updates a
config
item, the ocx would need to send a config.current so xplhal is always
up-to-date
Hadn't really planned on the app dynamically changing the values (hence
no
user interface to change the values of config items in my vb6
frameworks).
In fact I only saw the ability to change the config items values as
being
used at app load to set defaults really.
Thoughts/comments anyone?
Thanks
Tony
