Have gone back thru the code

The fact that you get a source.cfg file means that the form_load event is
kicking in, and the fact that you don't get a message saying xpl failed to
initialise or start and that you get nothing in configs/current points to
only one problem area as far as I can see.

The xpl ocx must be ok, tapi doesn't get used until device is configured
and
youre not getting that far. So that points to sapi5 failing when it tries
to
enumerate the available voices.

Is sapi5 definetley working on the pc ok?

Will send you an exe, offlist, that writes debug info to error.log during
the form_load process
