xPL-enabled video recorder?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any software that's out there for recording video from
capture cards that could potentially be xPL-enabled?

I'm currently using Windows Media Encoder, which has an ActiveX interface
to
allow control remotely, but I'd like something that could record to a
non-proprietary format, like DivX, MPEG2 etc. rather than just Windows
Media.
