Vendor ID for personal use now available

  • Subject: Vendor ID for personal use now available

Hi all,

Over the past few weeks a number of people have asked whether they need to
register a vendor ID for just sending a few xPL messages around their own
networks.

As a result, we have allocated the vendor ID "my" for personal
use.

Anyone can use device addresses like "my-sender.test" within
their own networks,
e.g. when sending messages, or for simple apps that the user has no plans
to
make generally available.

If a user makes an application or device available to the wider market at a
later date, they should apply for a registered vendor ID by posting their
request to this group in the usual way.

Regards,

John
