The reason that I use MP3's is that I can select any track from over 15Gb
of MP3 at the touch of a webpage and mix and match them how I like without
messing about with putting disks in and out.

well some dvd players will also play mp3. The main reasons why we have
mp3 is disk size, whether its putting them on a cd rom or on a PC
hard drive.

MP3 is the de-facto standard for 'backing up' your music, its not the
best method but its the most widely used.
