You shouldn't need to close an other xpl apps than the HV one.
Things to check:
1) You have version 4.3.0.24
2) You have HV PC Comms switched on in the HomeVision app.
3) You have a complete HVInclude.hvx
4) You have an empty HVExclude.hvx (having it empty to start mean you
should get everything and you add in an exlusions later)
5) If all else fails run the app: xpl_hvision /debug8 and send me
over the log file.
