More of almost done that, T-Shirt on order. I still have two 1 wire hubs
sat on the side not doing a lot and some half finished PIC ibutton zoning
code.

Unfortunately I never seems to get the time I would like to do any major
developing work at the moment but I'm more than happy to help out where
ever possible.

You could just about argue this both ways really. Although it fits best as
you have already suggested i.e. view 1-wire as simply a transport.
Essentially you are interested in what a 1-wire device can tell you:
temperature, ID, time, memory information. This type of information could
come just as easily from a non 1-wire product but provides the same
stimulus within the xPL network.

What you may want to do is have a series of types within a class though,
say the temp class, as well as DS1820's you have things like thermochron's
which will tell you the temperature but also if that temperature has been
outside a set range and for how long, it also keeps a log of temperature by
time. Instead of temp.1-wire it may be better to have temp.DS1820 and
temp.DS1921 or temp.1-wirebasic and temp.1-wireextra.
