Im going to waffle a bit here

hub i believe is a 6 port (zone) thingy which may have i assume
several ds18s20,s on each zone.... So how does it all piece together...How
does an application get the status of the ds1820 hanging off port (zone)
1??? Do we have zone = ?? in our xPl stat message ??? so the pic then
queries port 1 and passes the data back ....also ibuttons i
assume can also be on the same zone???</FONT></DIV>

I suspect that we should consider 1-wire as simply atransport, and look at
the actual data being sent..so, we produce a TEMP.BASIC Schema, for simple
temperature information, thenadd the 1-wire specific bits into a TEMP.1WIRE
extension..In fact, yeah, that sounds best. 1-wire is the transport, not
the system.having a specific 1-wire schema would be like having an RS232
