There is some stuff you can do with a standalone Siteplayer such as sending
Serial data out from its serial port but for it to receive information it
needs to be in a specific format therefore a PIC is normally required to
translate into SP speak.

The price is on the Lantronix Sales page.. mailed the Uk distro, but don't
expect a response till Monday at earliest..

tbh, I was comparing to the Siteplayer, but didn't realise it needed the
co-pro..

I suppose when you consider it, it's not a bad price at all, especially if
you can bulk it up with someone else..

Where did you find the price ?

Siteplayer is $30 ( well $29-95) and has a lkimit of 48K available for
Webpages. You also need a co-processor for most applications and the RJ45
socket costs about $5 so it would be a cost effective alternaive to
SitePlayer especially considering the fact that it has 384K of webspace
!!!!
