Rioplayxpl and wav files

Hi all,

Have just managed to play my first WAV file natively on the Rio :-)

Still needs some work, but it means voice announcements can be written
directly from tts wav, and then output without conversion to the rio.

Also, this means I'll be able to avoid re-inventing the wheel of creating a
new server app - and just create a tts server.

A couple of questions:

Is it worth the extra effort of making this a fully streaming codec, so
rioserver or jrec can stream WAV straight to the Rio like mp3, flac, ogg?

(Though I'm not sure how good the quality actually is yet, doesn't sound
bad
so far though)

I use the ms speech sdk (cheapskate!) for tts, but could someone confirm
that other tts engines also allow the tts to be written directly to wav
format, please?

Many thanks
Tony
