It does work for the command=DOWNLOAD for http:// requests but I haven't
really tested the ftp PUT and GET commands.

Essential you can just copy the script as is on the web page then run the
subroutine XMLHeadlines with a parameters of "FRONT PAGE",
"UK" etc. The
news headline will then be sent out as OSD.BASIC xPL messages.

Does xPL_GetURL work at all?
I want to use it to pull the xml headlines from the bbc etc to the local pc
so that I can use my own xls to display it with "clickable"
links etc. I couldn't work out what to do with the news sctipt on
gadgetshed

Sorry about all the questions... I realy want to get all these things
working. (and so will post another about digiguide in a minute)
