Nothing else has access to the OSD Device ?

Would in make sense for Alert=Y to temporarily override the exclusive and
then return control afterwards, it would seem to make sense. Or
alternatively make it optionally by either sending a Alert=Y with the
exclusive command indicating that I will give up exclusive for an alert
message or is that getting too complicated.

Also I think it is possible for individual devices to put an alert at the
top of the message queue I don't think this needs to be mandatory as it
wouldn't be easy on a tivo or pic to do but it is easily possible if you
have 3 or 4 messages queued up in pc app.

Just that when you send a exclusive command it doesn't by default clear the
display. I'm happy with the current approach of no clear.
