Software Updates

Hi All,

This is to advise that updates to xplhal and xplhal manager have just been
published at www.xplhal.com

Latest version of xplhal has several improvements:
Modifications to remove a device from list on config.end/hbeat.end
Scripting added for config.end/hbeat.end (use
<vendor>_<device>_<instance>_Terminated)
Added Latest versions of xhcp protocol and xpllib.dll
Option to turn off auto creation of script files
And various small improvements to config process

The xplhalupdate.zip also includes an updated version of xpl.ocx for
existing vb6 applications. It may be dropped into any existing vb6 app
v5.1.0.1 or above, and possibly older versions if not too old. Have also
published new versions of all vb6 app's to include the new ocx. It is
preferable to update any standalone hubs to the latest versions, but not
essential.

The .net applications have also been updated to include the new xpllib.dll

The new ocx/dll send config.end or hbeat.end when the application
terminates, this allows the hubs to drop the connection immediately instead
of waiting 2 * interval.

It also means that app's/devices will be removed from xplhal manager when
they are closed/turned off, rather than having to wait 2 * interval.

Will add this functionality to the linux/cygwin/tivo/rio code as soon as
time allows.

Having finally got around to introducing the .end type, something that's
been on the backburner for a while, nicely rounds off the whole config
process. Older app's/devices will still work fine as the change is backward
compatible.

Finally, the xpl_controller app (allows vb6 app's to be hidden and
controlled from a single icon in the system tray) will, when time permits,
be xpl enabled to allow applications to be started/closed/checked via
xplhal
scripts.

Regards
Tony
