Re: Allowable characters in xAP parameter values




I can setup xFx to automatically detect UTF-8 data being prepared for
transmission and set it as a ! value, as well as provide a consistent
API so that in an xFx-based application you don't have to worry about
it so much hopefully.

I can also set it up to recieve ! values and decode internally to
UTF-8 data. These messages would be sent on again as ! lines.

But what do I do with external messages that are = encoded but include
UTF-8 data? Do I alter the raw format of the original message so that
the = line becomes a ! line, particularly on retransmission? For
instance, does the hub pass the data on to the clients untouched, or
slightly and automatically adjusted. That's effectively what the first
paragraph above implies in the way xFx is implemented.
