I've been doing something along similar lines with the Homepod
software. Each page comprises a number of xAP message elements,
which are cached locally - so if the page is not active at the time a
message is received, the last known value can still be called up
on demand.
The xAP display schema could then also be extended to display pages by
number
or by name, which would be nice.
