Hmm... Looking at the proposals it seems the schemas assume the X10 devices
are able to report their status, and of course most devices aren't able to
do it.

But on a more general note - should there even be a schema for X10? X10 is
not a device, but an interface, and other devices should not have to know
about the X10 peculiarities. Shouldn't an xAP X10 interface present itself
as a bunch of switches and dimmers, not as a single "X10" entity?
So that
there would be a switch schema, a dimmer schema etc....
