With the earlier settings and that one you can control exactly what
xFx receives on and transmits to.

Hopefully that'll do the job for these situations.

A bit of a bind having to edit the .config files, but the forthcoming
versions of all my apps have improved configuration file handling so
newer releases from me won't keep overwriting your settings when they
are unpacked.
