Display types

I was wondering this morning, given various display types can have
different capabilities, would it be of any use if the display device,
along with stating "Hey, I can display things!", provided its
capabilities?

For instance:

Display.Features
{
Height=(number of lines of display)
--- may be some special value to signify unlimited potential
Width=(maximum number of [fixed width?] characters per line)
Colour=(1 0)
--- or true/false etc
Coords=(1  0)
--- (whether or not it can cope with coordinate based output)
}

Other items might include its ability to Queue, Prioritise, etc.

This of course presumes that another application elsewhere on the xAP
network knows how it wants its data to be displayed, as opposed to the
display device doing it all.
