IMPORTANT xAP Basic Status and Control

Ok Guys..

The issue of basic status and control for xAP has been 'aired' a few
times but never really thrashed through and sorted so.....

I have written what started as a one pager but became somewhat
longer on the subject. It is entitled "Basic Status and Control
Operation in
xAP" in Microsoft Word format and it is either attached to this
message or
failing that in the files area. (If Yahoo removes it). It covers the
background and a proposal. You can start half way through if you're a xAP
guru already. It may not be perfect but it's something we desperately need
to get sorted as it is holding back many projects in the xAP world
currently.

If you have an opinion then read it and PLEASE comment. As this has
not been very productive in the past I have had 'the nod' that the approach
with this will be that if no major objections are raised and no alternate
proposal made then it will become adopted as 'the way to do it' at the end
of this month. So speak now or forever hold you peace. Please note though
that I want comment and discussion, and would love to hear alternate and
better solutions. This was just my way of reaching a solution that allows
me
to ship my product. Be prepared to offer an alternate solution though !

I am away for the weekend shortly so I may be ominously quiet for a
few days - a gasp of relief is heard across the country..

PS If anyone can't read the doc because it's in Word please post here and
someone I'm sure will assist. It won't paste in any intelligible format in
a
fixed font/width email message - not worth trying.
