Problems with xAP Ping or my memory!

I don't use xAP much but have found it useful. A couple of years ago I used
to have different actions for the lights in my office depending on whether
both PC's were turned off, either of them were on or both were on. This was
accomplished with xAP Ping running on a server monitoring the fixed IP
addresses of the PC's. Kevin's xAP/C-Bus/Homevision gateway monitored this
and Homevision was programmed with different actions accordingly.

I rebuilt the server quite a while ago and didn't get around to
re-installing Ping until a few weeks back.

I just can't get it to work now, I put the IP address in and it tells me
the
PC is on regardless of whether it is or not.

Sorry to ask the list but any ideas or has Ping changed in some way that
means I can't use it like this anymore.

Thanks and regards

Gary
