Re:xAP and JMRI

JMRI guru Bob Jacobsen has asked
"Are there any Mac or Linux xAP tools I can run to test this locally?
If there are, that might help me get started."
I had a scout around could someone suggest where to look please.
I am running xFx viewer (Windows) and getting invalid message captures from
JMRI script.
