Hi,

Welcome to the group.

If you plan on getting perl running on the unit you may also want to
look at the xAP work done in misterhouse, http://misterhouse.sourceforge.net/
or zoneminder http://www.zoneminder.com/  . Even if
you don't want
to run either, the xAP libraries would probably be useful
