RE: xAP Plugin for HouseBot - a touchscreen based frontend.

In the same vein, might be worth mentioning that Homeseer is about to
be ex=
panded with a remote touchscreen client that sounds like it's going to be
m=
uch the same as described below.

- It runs on Windows and Windows CE (so pocket PC's)
- TCPIP based communication to the Homeseer server
- Multiple clients
- NOT web based, so fast, real-time updates etc. & doesn't require
flash
- Separate screen design application

It's slated to go into beta any day now, and scheduled for release early
ne=
xt year. Unfortunately it likely isn't going to be a free add-on, and
price=
details aren't known yet.

Subject: [xap_automation] xAP Plugin for HouseBot - a touchscreen based
fro=
ntend.

Hi all - and news of xAP support within another commercial HA application.

I am looking for beta testers for a xAP plugin for HouseBot by=20
CeBotics . It has been written by Edward P. and works with xAP BSC=20
devices and , as ever, appears really good. It's a two way=20
integration, BSC devices are discovered and tracked/controlled within=20
the application and HouseBot internal properties from inbuilt devices=20
exported as BSC back to xAP land . Hopefully this beta will go final=20
in a few weeks.

If you aren't already a HouseBot user (it used to be part of=20
Meedio) then it's an affordable HA controller application interesting=20
for a number of reasons - but one inparticular. It runs as a server and=20
allows you to create multiple remote touchscreens that run either as=20
standalone PC applications or on Pocket PC type devices (WinCE/mobile=20
based). You can use it from other clients too if they support RDP=20
(remote desktop) - like the Linux based Nokia 800 (770?) for example. =
=20
These remote screens operate really fast with realtime updates,=20
graphics, text and slider type controls. . It's really one of the first=20
applications that I've seen that operates similarly to Crestron and AMX=20
systems in this way. If you're interested in realtime Pocket PC control=20
of your HA system or PC based touchscreens then it's well worth a look. =
=20
There's a free 30 day trial on the website, which has screenshots etc , =
=20
and possibly a 'xAP' special pricing TBA . (RRP is under =A335)

Contact me if you're interested in the beta...

Cheers Kevin
