Well Ian, you've got me stumped here. I suggest you run up SlimServer in a
command window with some debug flags and post the output. Assuming you
normally run SlimServer as a Windows service, shut that down, open a
command
window and change directory to program files/slimserver/server and run the
command

slim --d_plugins

At some point during the startup sequence you should see lines like:
2006-11-09 23:36:46.2697 Requiring Plugins::xAP::Plugin plugin.
2006-11-09 23:36:46.2801 Created xAP send socket on:

2006-11-09 23:36:46.2844 to :

And then, after the startup sequence, lines describing xAP messages sent
and
received, e.g.,

Incidentally I've uploaded a slightly revised version of the connector last
night; it appears that I put an earlier build than I intended up on the
site
initially that failed with streams such as AlienBBC. Won't fix your 'plugin
not found' issue but you should get the latest.

Thanks for your eagerness to give this a go; sorry that it's been
frustration so far. I've been using the connector for a couple of months at
home and a couple of others have tried earlier versions with good results.
So let's get you up and running ASAP!

Edward

Hi Edward,

Since the Xap developers link doesn't seem to work for me,
I thought I post my results here.

I've installed your plugin into the program files/
slimserver/server/plugins/xap folder as you stated. When I restarted
slimserver the xAp Home Automation check box didn't appear. I've
rechecked where I put the perl scripts (there should be 7 files?)and
restarted slimserver several times now, without success. Are there any
other settings within slimserver I should be checking/adjusting?

Regards,

Ian.
