replace the exe that was installed by the msi.

Now has db checks using odbc. DB checks result in a fail if an error
occurs, dodgy if data was returned but different and success is all is
well. So if you selected a 'Show tables' sql command then dodgy would
signify an added or removed table. There is a preset list of simple sql
commands and the option to add your own
Additional option of sending SMS messages, assuming you have xAP SMS
setup somewhere on your network. remeber to set your mobile number in
the main settings page. Then you need t turn on/off sms per device.
A simple html file is generated in \xapintranet\ called status.html. It
gives a list of groups and status of them. It is designed to be
integrated into other web sites.
Fixed an issue where instead of the last 10 database entries displayed,
all entries were shown.

A full beta 3 build will be released assuming this exe works as it
should ;-)

I 'm thinking that the best way forward is to allow the selection of a
odbc dsn then for ping to do a simple sql command against it, show
tables or something like that and then base a success failure on the
data returned. That would also alert if a table got dropped too, which
could be handy. Going through odbc also means it can connect to any db

Yes I have the port check there, basically the service can be up and

What do you think?

You can, sort of, do this already. If you select a TCP scan and enter
the connection port of the db server. Basically this connects to a TCP
server and listens for the connection banner from the server, then
disconnects. Most servers work like this. I have used this to check,
exchange smtp/pop/imap servers, ssh daemons, mysql, apache, iis. Seems
to work fine

Hi,

<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="http://www.mi4.biz/files/xapping3/ping3_beta_3_test.zip";>http://www.mi4.biz/files/xapping3/ping3_beta_3_test.zip</a>

Could you give this a try and see how you get on. You will need to go to
the settings page and configure the from address and email title. The email
title can include %1,%2,%3 which allow the insertion of specific info,
details are on the settings page. Now every scan is also logged to a db,
the last 10 scans are included in the email sent out and also available
when you look at a device in the web interface.
Included is an updated ocx. Put this in the system32 dir and run regsrv32
against it.

Let me know how you get on. Assuming all is fine I will get a proper
installer done for it.

Neil Frost wrote:

I get SMS messages based on the subject of an email, the sms only contains
the subject so to know whether the service is fail or success would be
great.

Thanks

Apart from the "From" address, how about the subject? So Alert:

Also a history web page would be good...giving times of previous events...

format wise and example..

hh:mm dd/mm/yyyy monitor status

Thanks

Neil
