IR to xap device.

Hello all,

Is there any way of generating xap messages from a remote control such
as harmony/pronto etc.

The reasoning is as follows.

I have a media pc which normally sleeps when not in use.  It can't
normally be turned on by remote control, meaning I have to walk across
the room to turn it on.  However I have a TINI on my network which can
send out Wake on Lan messages over the network, which I use when I need
to turn the PC on when I am out of the house.  (to access the web based
epg etc)

I am considering getting a universal remote to replace the three or four
we have cluttering up the place, and it would be great if it could do be
set to tell the TINI to Wake on lan the media PC via a xap message.

I am also building a separate VFD display to show things like new email
warnings, caller id display etc, also powered by a TINI.  Being able to
change the display using a remote control would be great, for example to
tell the display to check email, show a list of recent calls.  To do
this would ideally require a xap to IR remote link.

Does this sound feasible or am I being a little too hopeful?
