xapframework.net?

I've been trying to find some VERY basic information on getting
started with xAP and home automation but haven't found any tutorials
of FAQs that spell things out in detail for total beginners. I have
some experience setting up and running servers on my home network
(Apache, mySQL, PhP, Tomcat, TiVo, WinAmp, etc.). I keep seeing
references to
xapframework.net but this site seems to be either down, or dead.
Can anybody direct me to a good guide to what hardware and software I
need to get started? I did some searches before posting but if I
missed something obvious, my apologies.
