Which xAP hub are you running - or perhaps just xAP Viewer ?

Right - sorry should have thought about your other post .. - you're
using Edwards Quasar connector...and 'raw' xAP

Ahh - that's a good find, and I suspect because of it HS is not
creating or initialising teh device correctly or perhaps James does some
maintenance work after teh device is created that isn't completing
because of this failure. I think we'll focus on this as renaming it
later might not recover. HomeSeer has a 50 character device name
restriction and xAP effectively doesn't so we do have to truncate names
to squeeze them in - what appears to be happening is the truncation
isn't enough here . What is strange is this (which is 59 characters)

"homeserver one homeserver com3 one temperature.current temp" as
an equivalent of

ersp.telemetry.homeserver.com3:one + 'temperature' + 'current.temp'

So , looks like a possible gremlin in the plugin - could you copy the whole
xAP message that Edwards connector is sending from the Quasar and post it
here - I am guessing it looks something like

xap-header
{
v=12
UID=FF????00
Class= <something>
Source=ersp.telemetry.homeserver.com3:one (or two or three or four)
}
temperature
{
current.temp=23.4
}

or something similar....
