Could it not schedule each ping to happen a few seconds apart on startup
to=
help space them out?

This is probably the interval setting. If there were say 100 devices each
w=
ith an interval of 100seconds then all the checks could happen at the
same=
time ending up with lots of cpu used. Ping tries to space out the scans to=
minimise load, so i'm guessing that your scans have a large interval and y=
our win2k server is simply the one that gets scheduled first. In order to
=
make config easer if you edit a device and click update then it schedules
t=
he scan to happen in 5 seconds.

I have Ping setup to ping 3 machines =96 W2K3 server, Xp and Linux boxes.
A=
fter starting or restarting xAP Ping, the W2Ks Server gets pinged OK but
th=
e other two sit there and show =91not all scans have taken place=92 for
age=
s. If I then go into config mode and refresh the config for the two
machine=
s (don=92t change anything though), they then get pinged OK.
